Marchetta Genis

Marchetta Genis is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and began her dance training at The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. She graduated with a BA in Dance and a minor in Religious Studies from Mercyhurst University. While attending Mercyhurst, Marchetta trained closely with Melissa Bobick, and performed with SoMar Dance Works and City Style Swing. After graduating, Marchetta moved to Miami, Florida to join Mosaic Dance Project as a founding company member where she was featured in the works of Kiki Lucas. While in Miami, Marchetta also appeared as a dancer on an episode of Telemundo Television Network’s “¡Qué Noche!” Marchetta has attended summer intensive programs at River North Dance Chicago, LehrerDance, Eisenhower Dance, Thodos Dance Chicago, and BalletMet. Alongside her passion for performing, Marchetta enjoys teaching yoga and various styles of dance and has been a featured guest artist and choreographer for The Cleveland Ballet Conservatory. Marchetta is very excited and honored to be in her first season with Thodos Dance Chicago.
