From Martha Graham to Mark Morris, modern dance has always been propelled by artists who create and perform their own work. And while many dancers go through their careers without ever composing pieces of their own, that’s not so for the members of Melissa Thodos’ company. For the past 16 years, she’s encouraged her crew to give choreography a crack. The ensemble shows its stuff at this annual summer concert.
