Some top-notch talent slated for Chicago last winter never made it here — and not because of the weather. This winter promises familiar names, rescheduled, plus familiar faces returning and a few unknown quantities. Make a note, and pray for no further ill fortune…

Thodos Dance Chicago: The winter concerts, called this year “Chicago Inspired,” feature a reprise of “Fosse Trilogy,” celebrating ’60s dances by native Chicagoan and jazz dance great Bob Fosse. Melissa Thodos premieres “Near Light,” and guest choreographer Garfield Lemonius presents “Memoirs.” Two pieces by Chicago master artist Sybil Shearer will be reprised, as will Brian Enos’ beautiful “Lullabye,” and works by company members John Cartwright and Tenley Dorrill. Feb. 21 at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie, $28-$50 at 847-673-6300 or northshorecenter.org. Then March 7 at Harris Theater, 205 E. Randolph St., $15-$65 at 312-334-7777 or harristheaterchicago.org
