Skylanding (Yoko Ono)

Thodos Dance Chicago was honored to be commissioned in artistic collaboration with Yoko Ono’s Skylanding, Project 120 and Tatsu Aoki’s Miyumi Project in Chicago’s historic Jackson Park. The unveiling of Ono’s larger than life sculpture, her only permanent installation in the Americas, was celebrated through dance and music on October 17, 2016.

Symbolizing peace, harmony and healing, Skylanding sits at the entrance to the Garden of the Phoenix dedicated to US – Japan relations. The dance was set to Yoko Ono’s music “Rising I” performed by the Miyumi Project.
