Hattie Haggard

Hattie Haggard, from Plano, TX, graduated in May 2015 from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a BFA in Dance Performance and a BBA in Business. She performed works at SMU by artists such as Joost Vrouenraets, Mel Tomlinson, Antony Tudor, and Joshua L. Peugh. She choreographed numerous pieces during her time at SMU. Hattie also studied at other dance institutions including San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Complexions, Bolshoi Academy and ImpulzTans in Vienna, Austria. Hattie just completed her second year with Thodos Dance Chicago. During her time with the company she performed works by Melissa Thodos, Brian Enos, Anne Reinking, Kevin Iega Jeff, Shannon Alvis, Garfield Lemonius, and Bella Lewitzky. Hattie had the privilege of performing Melissa Thodos’ 1986 solo, Reaching There, in TDC’s Final 25th Anniversary Performance. Hattie was a choreographer for New Dances 2016; she created a work entitled, Show a Little Taste. She is excited to continue developing her artistic voice as she presents her new work for New Dances 2017. She wants to thank her family, friends and God for their constant support.
