As a touring dance company during its first 25 years, TDC’s company has performed in 79 venues in 26 states, as well as many foreign countries with seasons that featured home concerts, national and international touring engagements and the critically acclaimed New Dances choreography performance series.

Mentoring and education developing dance artists is vital to the mission of Thodos Dance Chicago. Our offerings are lead by Founder & Artistic Director Melissa Thodos as well as seasoned, accomplished TDC alumni who all hold B.A. and M.F.A. degrees in dance, and teach at the elementary, high school and university levels.

NEW Dances found a home with us in 2000 and now continues by being jointly presented by Thodos Dance Chicago (TDC) and DanceWorks Chicago (DWC). NEW Dances gives Chicago's multi-dimensional dancers the complete freedom to create their own work as choreographers and directors.

Thodos Dance Chicago celebrated its 25th season in 2017-2018 and announced an organizational change, which transformed the TDC as a touring dance company to a project based dance organization. Under its new mission, TDC is dedicated to is to engage and enrich the community through dance creation, advocacy, education, and mentorship.
