Assembly Programs

Thodos Dance Chicago has developed three sensational Assembly Performances that have been performed in Chicago schools and throughout the country. These programs enrich the lives of young people in our community through dance performance as well as interactive participation.


The inspirational story of Helen Keller & Anne Sullivan is told through dance bringing awareness to people with disabilities. “Connections” is recommended for grades K – 8. Pre-show lesson plans are available.

Imagine Dance

"Imagine Dance" is an exciting, interactive dance assembly program that educates students about the concepts and tools employed in creating dance. “Imagine Dance” is recommended for grades K – 8. An accompanying study guide is available.

Dance Smash

A full-company, repertory show is performed followed by a question and answer session in this one-hour assembly. “Dance Smash” is recommended for junior high and high school students.

School Residencies

Thodos Dance Chicago thrives on creating unique residencies for interested presenters; residencies are custom built and tailored to meet the needs and expectations of the presenting organization. Presenters range from elementary schools, to juvenile detention centers, libraries, arts high schools and more!

Afterschool Programs

Thodos Dance Chicago embraces the value of after school activities and provides dance instruction programs for after school programs. Instructors are able to offer a variety of dance genres at a variety of levels.

College Level Programs

Thodos Dance Chicago is also devoted to dance education at the collegiate level. Melissa Thodos, Artistic Director and Founder, or Laura Gates, Artistic Associate, are available to conduct residencies and set company repertory on college level dancers throughout the country.
